SELECTION PROCESS

The application and selection process for the Taco Bell X Bad Birdie Invitational is designed to assemble the finest talent and highlight the most captivating stories in junior golf. The initial application round will be open to the public, requiring players to submit basic background information to be considered. Selected applicants will then advance to a second round, which includes video submissions and follow up interviews, providing players a platform to share their unique journeys.

A significant portion of the field will be selected based on World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), ensuring the event features the most highly touted junior golfers in the country. To add a distinctive and engaging element, a segment of the field will be chosen based on their video submission and follow up interview to spotlight the most compelling stories in junior golf.

REQUIREMENTS

Application is open to amateur junior golfers aged 13 – 19.

  • Participants must be 13 years of age on or prior to July 7th, 2025.

  • Participants who are 19 years of age may be eligible so long as they do not turn 20 before July 9th, 2025.

  • Participants who have started college classes regardless of age are not eligible. (this does not include programs where high school students take college courses as part of their high school education.e.g. Running Start).

  • Participants are not eligible if they have declared themselves as a ‘professional’ regardless of age.

  • Proof of age (e.g. birth certificate or passport) may be required prior to acceptance.

  • Players will be selected for the competition by the Selection Committee, acceptance is fully at the committee’s discretion.
